For my 24th birthday I decided to have a low key day with the family at one of my favorite places, the Museum of Flight. The Boeing plant in Seattle and Everett are just amazing and definitely one of the places that inspired me to start flying.
If you plan on visiting the area clear your whole schedule cause there’s a LOT to do. There’s planes and prototypes from when flight was first imagined, a Boeing 747, and you can even tour the Air Force One during Eisenhower’s presidency. There’s simulators, #-D cinema, and tours.
Boeing field is also a public airport so at their cafe you can sit outside and watch planes, jets, and Cessnas take-off and land. The whole family enjoyed it, especially my grandfather who is a fanatic.
There’s also quite a few events going on at this place so make sure you check out their website to see when you want to go.
The museum is located just outside of Seattle so you don’t really have to worry about traffic either and theres tons of parking.
The ‘Big Stud’ airplane was quite a favorite among the men in my family.
Sorry for not posting in a few days, been under the weather recently after getting my wisdom tooth removed. Ouch!
I was fortunate to be invited to the Diane von Furstenberg store opening in Bellevue on the 29th of June.
I have been so busy that I haven’t been able to spend any time with my mum and grandma, so I decided it would be a nice treat to them to a lovely night out. The moment we walked in we were greeted with champagne, yummy cocktails, and hor d’oeuvres. The shop was impeccably decorated and the ladies who greeted us were very stylish in their wrap dresses.
I’ve always been fascinated with Diane von Furstenberg, she’s been a strong woman with a longevity in the fashion industry that can only be described as mind blowing. She is known for creating the wrap dress, which just celebrated its 40th anniversary, and empowering women to be successful whilst feeling confident. If you want to know more about this wonderful lady then you should really read her biography. It’s a perfect bath tub read.
Fellow blogger Cassandra Laville was helping host the party and I love her blog. When I first moved to Seattle I scoured the internet for bloggers who knew their way around Seattle and I was obsessed with Coco and Kelley. Elle magazine was also helping throw the extravaganza and like great hosts they gave us little goody bags. There was also a photobooth with lots of fun props that allowed us to be silly, took me straight back to the 90s.
We had a fantastic time and I even purchased my first DVF dress!! Look at all the colors and patterns, can be styled so many ways. It’s perfect for the office and then out for cocktails with the ladies, which is perfect with my hectic schedule. My mother got two dresses which she adores and my grandmother could not stop giggling…maybe from the 3 glasses of champagne.
Welcome to Seattle Diane von Furstenberg, we’re so happy you’ve joined us!
It was a great day in Seattle, the sun was shining and I was excited to wear my new Zara skirt. Although I was ready for my dinner and drinks with a crop top and bright pink pencil skirt, I had to obtain a more demure and cultured look for the Chihuly Garden and Glass.
Dale Chihuly grew up locally in Tacoma and is an unbelievably talented glass blower. You can see his designs in places such as Paris, Colorado, Chicago, London, Venice, Ireland, and Mexico.
He’s famous for mixing his new collections with the environment around him so that they look natural.
This is one of my favorite pieces because it reflects its neighbor the Space Needle. Can you believe this is all glass!
Even when you go indoors you’re surrounded by color and great displays of art.
The room above is available to rent out for parties, wedding receptions, and business functions. Isn’t it a great setting!
When the room was built, Dale Chihuly signed one of the far walls.
